CS> TW> But I don't forsee me needing much beyond Win98. CS>We have already decided our next ministry computer will be a Mac. CS>We'll make do with what we have until the new Mac Intel machines are CS>out and have been debugged. We are even willing to spend the outlay CS>needed for Mac software to take the place of what we are currently CS>using. Getting equilivent software will be the big problem. Particulalry any type of Reference Library. CS>A Linux only machine while nice to have, in my humble opinion, is not CS>ready to do any serious work for ministry or business. That may CS>change in the future and is why I keep up with the latest from the CS>Linux world. They are making, Somewhat disappointingly, some SLOW progress. CS> TW> I took good advantage of that when I was donating computers. Picked up CS> TW> about a dozen NICE 350/450 Mhz Systems CS>Still very useful machines when equipped with an OS that's CS>appropriate. Win98 or SE and even ME will run just fine on those CS>computers. That has been my point here for a long time despite being trashed for that "Opinion". I still have 1 Tower and 2 Desktops sitting arround and copies of Win95 OSR2 for them. While Win95 gas soem, limitations, USB being one, but fro a basic machine for the Internet band wrodprocessing as you say does a very nice job. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
