Thanks for the thought Robert. I had already considered that, but Alan's
post indicating the no fix stopped me. I'll just wait till I get my hands
on the Laptop and go from there. The owner says he is going to buy a CDR
drive for it via the internet. Maybe that will solve things by allowing
a repair install.
