Subj : Win98SE install? CJ>So if I go as you adviced, I would first install a virgin CJ>NT4 on my new box in the directory WINNT.NEW. Then I would CJ>restore my old setup into the directory WINNT on the same CJ>partition. CJ>Where do I go from there? The virgin installation would CJ>have the correct SCSI adapter and VGA video whilst the old CJ>installation would have the Adaptec adapter and MGA CJ>Millenium-II configured. OK, I could reset my old CJ>installation to VGA before saving it to tape, but the saved CJ>copy would still have the 'wrong' SCSI adapter configured. CJ>How do I go around this roadblock? Depends on how the SCSI card is used. If it's needed for booting, I think you're essentially hosed. If it's for other attachments (scanner, CD writer, secondary disk, etc.) you could simply boot into the old system, delete the old Adaptec driver and add the new Tekram one. Come to think of it, that may be the way to go before removing the old SCSI card on the original installation - install the new driver and remove the old one before shutting down that last time. Don't reboot until the new system is in place. ___ *Durango b211 * DurangoMail for Windows NT/9x --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: COMM Port OS/2 juge.com 204.89.247.1 (281) 980-9671 (1:106/2000) .
