Well, for one thing, my ISP uses dynamic IP adresses, so I wont know my adress from "dialup" to "dialup". That means that I must enable lan0 in Warp:s TCPIP Configuration notebook, then check Automatic. Under the Automatic checkbox are two more: "Using DHCP" and "Also using DDNS". I have Using DHCP checked. Under Nameservers, I've put my ISP:s nameservers IP adresses namely 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2. Domain name I have set to 'telia.com'. When i reboot after saving these changes, the system stands a little while before Desktopen begins to paint: then it spits out an error msg saying that DHCPSTRT didn't got any adress or some such crap. But I ran into more trouble the other day. My new PC DOS 2000 arrived here, and I began by installing it over the old PC DOS 7.0 which went just smoothly but for the little detail that RAMSETUP still didn't work as it should (the prob was a thrashed system.ini in w31 but I didn't know this at that time). Frustrated, and with a couple of strong beers on board, I decided to wipe my C: and install PC DOS 2000 "virgo intacta" there before adding old programs and such things. So I began by doing a XCOPY C:\ I:\DOS-C /S /E /V so as to rescue my C: files. After that, I reformatted C: and installed PC DOS 2000 which went in as smooth as a warm knife in butter. So far, so good. Uh-oh! " Can't get in my wedding gown! " I COULDN'T boot into my NT4 installation any more! When I Xcopied my C: drive to a "staging" area on another FAT drive, I missed copying the hidden, system and read-only files that existed on my C: before the format. these files are now utterly GONE! My NT4 is setup so that the bulk of NT4 sits on a separate, NTFS partition while some necessary files sits in the root of my DOS C: partition. Worse, I *dont have any NT4 emergency disks!* The *only* thing I have is the NT4 Server CD and the installation disks! Is it possible to revive my NT4 installation, and if so, HOW? /GAIA (Insulin User - 4th Anniversary & 19th Wedding Anniversary :-) ) Team OS/2 E-mail: cribo.jacobsson@gaea.se --- GoldED/2 2.50+ 16SW2 * Origin: Hear my voice, big boobies...(ú)(ú) (2:205/104) .
