Its a function of the Printer driver.

Thats the price we pay for "Winprinters"..

When I used a Epson C64, I would get a window opening up from systray that more 
or less referred to the job was sent to printer, how much was printed so far 
and ink levels, when printing complete, the window "dismissed" itself..

Does this window of yours dismiss itself?

This behavior is something you may have to live with, unless the driver allows 
a config option to turn off the behavior, but not all winprinter drivers behave 
this way, TTBOMK, HP's doesnt.
