Discovered an interesting difference between NT4 and Windows 2000 Pro the other 
day when I was trying to 'push' some updates across the network.
Under NT4, I've always been able to access the administrative shares (C$, D$, 
ADMIN$, LOGON$, etc) irrespective of wether FILE and PRINT SHARING was enabled 
in Control Panel/Networks.  Windows 2000 Pro behaves differently. If you do not 
have FILE and PRINT SHARING check boxed in My Network Places/properties/Local 
Connections/properties, the w2k box is not shown in My Network Places/Computers 
Near Me; you can't make it appear using Find/Computers; you can't attach to it 
with NET USE x: \\machinename\resource /user:[domain]\username password
This is moving away from  what I've wanted, starting with NT. To be able to 
attach to admin shares even if file and print sharing is off AND for the 
machine to not appear in network neighborhood/my network places even if file 
and print sharing is turned on. (some of which can be accomplished with use of 
policies or registry tweaks)
