In order to set the IP to that address, you must either change the router's DHCP server setup or set the NIC's address manually (and Winpcfg isn't the tool to use). Is there a reason you MUST use .2 as the address? If not, simply set the NIC to use automatic settings for everything. If you must, note the DNS server settings and plug them into the network configuration as well as the IP address (192.168.1.2), the router/gateway address (192.168.1.1) and the subnet mask (255.255.255.0).
