Ray,

The only thing I can think, you created two -Primary- partitions this time.  
One for Windy, one for DOS.  Only one -Primary- partition can be active (seen) 
at a time.

From this, it sounds like you had DOS on a -Logical Partition- in an -Extended 
Partition-
