Subj : Bizarre Problem To : Jeff Guerdat From : Larry Athey Date : Mon Jan 08 2001 10:46 pm JG> This is due to something (perhaps the application you're trying to run JG> in the first place) as a TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident). You need JG> to determine what's being loaded as a TSR and either don't run it or JG> see if it can be loaded as a normal program, rather than as a JG> background one (such as a menuing system that pops up when you hit JG> certain keys). Not loading any TSR's anywhere. My batch file that runs my mailer does it, the batch file that runs GoldED does it, the batch file that runs FastEcho does it, and any other batch file that runs from a desktop shortcut or any batch file that is spawned from a Windows program does it. Any shortcuts directly to a DOS executable doesn't do it. But the problem only exists in the DOS based versions of Windows, it doesn't happen in NT or 2000.
