Subj : Win2k won't recognize Spa To : All From : David R. Norton Date : Fri Nov 10 2000 04:20 am Can anyone help solve this problem? I had a Syquest EZFlyer 230 drive and it worked great with Win2k. I replaced it with a Syquest SparQ drive and Win2k won't boot at all. I recently formatted the hard drive and found Win2k won't even install with the SparQ, I unplugged the cable from the SparQ, installed Win2k just fine but when I plugged the cable back in, same thing, I couldn't boot the computer. When the boot process or the install process comes to the part where it recognizes the drives, it just hangs forever.... Help, please? There's no help on the Syquest web site that I can find, they just say it's supported in Win2k?????? Silly details, PIII-500mHz, 256M ram, ABIT BH6 v1.1 mboard, Award BIOS w. latest update to BH632, Maxtor 10g HD installed as master on IDE channel 1, Syquest SparQ EIDE internal installed as slave, CDrom installed as master on IDE channel 2, HP CDRW 8110 installed as slave. Everything works fine with Win98, WinME and worked fine with Win2k when the Syquest EZFlyer 230 EIDE internal was installed in place of the SparQ. Since Win2k won't install on a blank HD the problem HAS to be in the bios or the SparQ or Win2k itself? BTW, this message coming to you from beautiful, scenic Windows Millenium which I had to buy because I couldn't install Windows 2000! ??????????????????????????????????????????????????
