Then check the ACPI/APM individual settings to be sure it's set to detect a wake up signal. The wake up signal is usually selectable to include LAN wakeup, ring in, and etc. You might have to go through all the various settings according to your CMOS program to determine which works. My CMOS has about 20 different settings - can be confusing! W2K is definitely more fussy about ACPI than Win98.
