Excuse me while I whimper and moan OH NO!  That's what blew Win2k out of 
the water in the first place, I think.  I think it couldn't recognize 
the SparQ?  It was up and running with the EZFlyer and when I removed it 
and installed the Sparq I booted into Win98 several times to make sure 
all was well.  It's when I tried to boot into Win2k the problem began.

Win98 and WinME, which I'm now running, set DMA to OFF by default.  Does 
Win2k not do so?  I've never looked.

It wasn't installed on my Win2K, I never need ANY media player.  I don't 
want my machine making noise at me!

Anyway, it sounds like your idea of removing the SparQ and installing 
Win2k should work, problem is if re-installing the SparQ would mess it 
up again?  Who knows.  Meanwhile, WinME seems to work fine and I'm 
afraid to mess with the system until I'm sure of it and have a good 
backup so I'll have to wait to try your idea.
