Subj : Pm 5.01 To : All From : Charles Scaglione Date : Wed Sep 27 2000 07:20 am Just a tip for Partition Magic 5.01 owners who plan on using it to convert NTFS partitions to FAT-32 or FAT-16. (PM 5.X has this ability, not previous versions.) PowerQuest tech support (in an E-Mail to me) has advised this will only work if the partition to be converted is 2 GB or less in size. Of course the PM manual does not state that and silly me tried to convert a 7 gig partition! Needless to say the other night when I tried this turned out to be a long tedious evening - removing the NTFS partition and reformatting it to FAT-32 and reinstalling W2K. (It was my W2K boot partition.) I guess the conversion limitations make sense but it would have been nice if PowerQuest could have written that in the manual. Can't complain too much though, at least they still supply a decent manual unlike other publishers who rely on help. cscag@flash.net CMPQwk 1.42 1262 --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: COMM Port OS/2 juge.com 204.89.247.1 (281) 980-9671 (1:106/2000) .
