I had multiple users in the first place.

Actually, I did last what I shoulda done first - look at the KB.  It's
actually easy to do once you know it's there.

Right-click on the task bar and choose Properties.  Go to Advanced and check
out the little area at the bottom.  All I had to do was to check the Display
Logoff selection.

Duh...
