Subj : Removing Linux boot To : All From : Alan Zisman Date : Sun Aug 06 2000 07:44 am * Originally in: Windows.2xxx On my W2K system, I created Linux partitions using Partition Magic, and installed Corel Linux-- adding the Linux boot utility, LILO to the boot sector (I know-- I should have added it to the Linux root). I'd like to remove the Linux partitions, restoring the space to my W2K partition... which I could do easily with PM-- but that would still leave the LILO boot manager in place. On a Win9x system, I would remove that, using FDISK /MBR, but I suspect doing that to a WinNT/2K system would leave it unbootable-- at least to Win2K. Am I going to have to boot to the W2K install CD-ROM, and run the repair module? Will I have to re-install SP1 after that? Or is that when I get to use the unbootable Emergency Recovery Diskette (see previous message)? ....
