However, there's no point installing HPFS support to NT 4.0 unless you're dual booting with OS/2 and/or have a partition load of data formatted to HPFS. Unfortunately, even robust third party utilities such as Partition Magic can not change an HPFS formatted partition to FAT. When OS/2 lost its popularity as a desktop OS, no one seemed to care enough to provide conversion support for HPFS. Microsoft could have done it easily enough since they along with IBM invented HPFS.
