I have never seen any instability in the GUI. I'm using XFree 4.0.2, KDE 2.1 beta and kernel 2.4.1. I don't see anything that is harder to do than under Win2K. I downloaded XFree 4.0.3 last night and KDE 2.1.1. I haven't installed them yet, but probably will. I'm not using an old, slow video card. Unless you think a GeForce2 is old and slow.
