My solution was to borrow the kids monitor, install, then put my monitor back on it. I found I couldn't set it to anything above 60Hz with this monitor at 1260x1024x16m. My guess would be 70 or 72Hz. It's bug XP2263 if you are interested. So far they have not been able to reproduce it but that's because they don't have one of these monitors. Geo.
