Subj : Re: 2kPro: Laptop Slowdown. To : Chris Robinson From : Geo. Date : Tue Apr 03 2001 11:47 am From: "Geo." Nobody seems to be able to say with any certainty. However current wisdom says it changes the size chunks of memory the system swaps around, there are a bunch of pages about it on the net, just search on "IoPageLockLimit" on google or something and you can read for hours. What I don't know is if it affects the amount of memory a program gets when it requests a chunk, if it increased the size of the minimum chunk then you don't want to set it too big but if it's just swapping then I would try to match it to your sector size or a multiple of sector size.
