manufacturers don't have driver's available.  Third party driver = distrbution 
doesn't really address the issue that Linux won't run in GUI = mode at all.  I 
can't even run as a plain old VGA at 640x480 which the = adapter and display do 
support.

  Beta 1 of Whistler didn't support my ATI Radeon card at all...
