If you buy software with a license you very likely being cheated into paying for pirated software. Well, my company doesn't sell software; that was your scenario, not mine. When we were doing our own buying, the license went into a box (still shrinkwrapped with books/CDs) as soon as the unit was unpacked. When all were unpacked, the boxes of licenses/CDs/manuals went to off-site storage until we were ready to return the PCs, which were leased. We didn't see the license certificates until then and we didn't match them up with individual computers when we returned them. > In regard to keeping a copy of the license instead of the license itself you defeat the purpose as you can make a copy and sell your originals claiming that you still have the license because you kept a copy. Heck, you could try selling copies of licenses. Despite Microsoft's wishes, I'd rather manage a copy (paper or electronic) of a single invoice for, say, 30 PCs that included an MS operating system than 30 individual license certificates. --- BBBS/NT v4.00 MP * Origin: Barktopia Gating Project http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) .
