I believe they can. When Win2K was released, I downloaded the NVidia reference drivers and they worked well. In April I downloaded an updated driver from Elsa's web page. Installing Elsa's driver trashed my Win2K installation. I ended up having to reinstall. After that I always just used NVidia's drivers. The TNT2 card I had was not able to run at 4xAGP. It would only work at 2x. > Well, there are some based on GeForce 256 and GeForce2 MX (which I > assume are different chipsets?). Also, there are some based on the > Voodoo 4. Any idea how those chipsets compare? Or how their NT driver > quality compares? The GeForce2 is a little newer and presumably faster than the 256. I would currently recommend getting a card with a GeForce2. Good cross platform support and very fast (4xAGP). Tom's Hardware had a good article on GeForce2 cards a little while back.
