Subj : Re: NT video driver quality? To : All From : Rohan Beckett Date : Sun Apr 01 2001 04:17 pm From: Rohan Beckett Nvidia produce very good drivers (and chipsets! :) they are constantly improving and getting updated every few months. Running a Geforce256 DDR under Win2k at the moment.. runs superb... but... my previous card was a Matrox Millienium II PCI, and honestly.. it produced a crisper, sharper image on the desktop, than my Geforce does. Matrox's 2D quality is still pretty much the best around... when I swapped cards.. I noticed a slight ghosting with the geforce (creative brand), although this is only noticable with certain colour shades, and in particular, large lumps of solid colour. The Matrox, with the same motherboard/cpu/monitor didn't have this effect at all. But I've learned to live with it.. and most other people can't even notice it! they all say I must be seeing things! :) of course, the Geforce kicks butt in 3D :-) Rohan.
