Geo understands this perfectly, my complaint was that nobody bothered to test 
the revocation procedure which I compared to doing backups and never testing 
the restore procedure.

But like I said, if it's the same way with IBM, that they never tested this 
either with their stuff that uses certs then I really can't fault MS.

     That aside, George's question is flawed or else he misunderstands
something.  Internet Explorer is perfectly capable of checking revocation of 
certificates but that doesn't help if the certification authority doesn't 
include in the certificate the locations to check for certificate revocation 
lists.
