It required a power down to correct. Upon powering back up, the drive squealed and couldn't home itself. Luckily I had a recent Ghost 40G tape image I would not be a happy camper to have to go back through and attempt to reregister all apps. And luckily MS Office 2K registration didn't complain about the re-imaging.
