  I had that happen just today ... fired up Napster (for the 2nd time
ever) and Win 98 locked up.  It required a power down to correct. Upon powering 
back up, the drive squealed and couldn't home itself.

   Luckily  I had a recent Ghost 40G tape image

  I would not be a happy camper to have to go back through and attempt
to  reregister all apps.   And luckily MS Office 2K registration
didn't complain about the re-imaging.

    (For a minute there, I thought the RIAA had broken into Napster
and planted a virus that would download and execute as a Napster newsflash!)
