Subj : NT4 slow file copy-networking To : All From : RCooley Date : Mon Mar 26 2001 05:50 am From: RCooley I set up an NT server to run as a BDC (PDC across WAN) and any file copying/downloading is painfully slow (5MB/5 min) both to and from other machines in LAN and over internet. Can sync with PDC quickly. Network is cat5, unmanaged 10/100 switches. NIC is 3Com 10/100 (3c905b-tx), is set at 100BaseTx and Full Duplex (switch shows connection is at that speed), static IP. Running the usual services including AppleTalk, no DHCP. Tried using different ip address, different switch placement, switched to all new cables. Next is to replace NIC (after lengthy purchasing procedure at our comapny). I'm no NT guru, but I've got a few years exper without problems like this. Any help greatly appreciated.
