Subj : Multiple interfaces same Class C net is bad? To : All From : Randall Parker Date : Mon Mar 26 2001 12:23 am From: Randall Parker I assigned local net IP addresses to both my NICs in my main machine even though one of those NICs only connects to a DSL modem. Is that a bad thing to do? Is only only confusing the routing of things if two interfaces in the same machine are on the same Class C network? Is there any reason to assign a local IP address to a NIC that is used only for outbound traffic? I'm thinking I should remove that local Class C address from that NIC. --- BBBS/NT v4.00 MP * Origin: Barktopia Gating Project http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) .
