Define hackers, I've scanned bunches of machines, usually looking for port 80 trying to find interesting websites. Also before I bought DIGX stock I scanned a good section of their network looking at how exploitable their web hosting machines were (their NT boxes are fairly exploitable btw). When I'm wondering about anything on the net the first thing I always try is some type of a scan, that's how you "see" on the net. It's no different than driving around a building where you are going to apply for a job or driving down a street looking at the houses, cars, and people. I realize if you do that in some neighborhoods the police will stop you, but it's not illegal to look. Sometimes I think the whole world has gone paranoid. Look guys, if you don't want your computer talking to strangers, then tell it not to talk to strangers. Geo.
