Brian, I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to use Perl to admin NT/Win2k machines. I am thinking of writing a script that would be able to read a list of keys. eg you could have a file that lists a list of registry paths. The Perl script would go down each path and show all keys and subpaths that are below it. So you could go: > Perl MyPerlRegistryReader.pl MyRegistryPathListFile.txt and it would dump out a list of registry keys, types, and values at those places. Anyway, I'm wondering anyone happens to know if there is an OLE interface into the registry. There is this Win32::OLE package for Perl from ActiveState that looks like it can create and call OLE objects in apps. I would expect some OLE object is available for the registry. http://velocity.activestate.com/docs/ActivePerl/site/lib/Win32/OLE.html If you don't already have Perl installed on NT/Win2k then you can get it from here: http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/Download.html --- BBBS/NT v4.00 MP * Origin: Barktopia Gating Project http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) .
