One of the things that always annoys me is when you buy a piece of software over the web and then for some reason have to remove it from your system at a later time (perhaps to move it to a different drive or something) then can't get that version to reinstall and they force you to buy an upgrade because it's the only version available anymore. So I keep the old versions and put the serial number in the description field so I can reregister it.
