Subj : Intellimouse scroll wheel stopped working To : All From : Randall Parker Date : Sat Mar 24 2001 02:37 am From: Randall Parker Running NT4 SP6a with MS Intellimouse Explorer. It has 4 buttons and a scroll wheel. I just went thru and installed new software and updates on my machine today. It put on the latest Sygate Manager, rev'ved the Matrox G400 driver, its general security patches and IE5.5 to SP1 (the latter two done thru http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com). Somewhere along the way the scroll wheel on the mouse stopped working and scrolling seemed slowere. Well, in Control Panel|Mouse in the Pointer Options tab I upped the Pointer Speed. At the bottom of that tab is reports Microsoft IntelliPoint. So it seems like it knows which mouse it has. However, on the Buttons tab the choices for Device are "Microsoft Mouse" and "Basic Mouse and" the "Basic Mouse" option is selected. The button assignment on this page does not mention the 2 additional Intellimouse Explorer buttons and the picture of the mouse looks like a plain old- fashioned MS mouse. Also, on the Wheel tab everything is greyed out. On the General tab it reports Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse. So how could the Intellimosue Explorer driver have gotten tossed out of the configuration? Is that what happened? --- BBBS/NT v4.00 MP * Origin: Barktopia Gating Project http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) .
