Is there a way to say "Open/Run all the short-cuts in this folder"?

I'd rather not open it and then select all and then right click and click Open. 
I'd like to do it in fewer steps.

I guess I could write a Perl script that would accomplish this.

BTW, also does anyone know if VBA is the only way to script Word 97? Could one 
somehow get at its objects using Active State's Perl for Win32?
