Subj : Anyone got a Cannon Multipass?

Anybody,

My step daughter bought a flippin' Cannon Multipass 560.  She's downloaded the 
latest driver from their web page.  The new one does the same thing as the old 
one that came with her printer.
        To wit:  "Unable to register .....".

Does this mean that the install program is unable to make an entry in the 
registry to make NT recognize the damn thing? Does this mean that the software 
engineers at Cannon are a bunch of dunces?  She has WinFax Pro installed.  
WinFax shows up in the Printers folder. Does this mean that Winfax is the 
culprit?

Does anyone have any suggestions?  She's running, as indicated, NT4 sp4, 
p2-450, shuttle, bx chip,4 gig, 128MB. Nothing untoward (programs) that I'm 
aware of.

Before, I was able to delete the stupid thing, reinstall.
