Holy cow.

Items 2-4 are some of the scariest MSKB articles I've ever read.  Especially 
frightening is the unreferenced (except indirectly) Q254769.  Reading this with 
its referent, I seem to find:

"A fix to a mistake in CHS/LBA detection was compounded in 2000 SP1.  The user 
has to juggle ATAPI.SYSes, with no filesizes or build dates furnished." Or is 
ATAPI.SYS one of those mystery "build-custom-DLL-at-install-time animals?
