I found an editor in Excel, click Tools->Macro->Visual Basic Editor. I don't know if it can be used to create scripts outside of Excel, but these this are generally small enough that Notepad works fine. WSH is built into W2K, I think it's an add-on for NT4. Here's a script that creates and writes to an Excel spreadsheet: http://cwashington.netreach.net/script_repository/view_scripts.asp?Index=418&Sc riptType=vbscript And here's one that reads from a spreadsheet (the addusers.vbs I was talking about. http://cwashington.netreach.net/script_repository/view_scripts.asp?Index=130&Sc riptType=vbscript WSH documentation is at http://msdn.microsoft.com/scripting/windowshost/wshdoc.exe The VBScript docs: http://msdn.microsoft.com/scripting/vbscript/download/vbsdoc.exe On Wed, 7 Mar 2001 18:59:40 -0500, "Geo." wrote: >I've never worked with either VBscript or WSH, is there someplace in excel >or office to get into an editor of some sort? > >Geo. > >"John Cuccia" wrote in message >news:90jbatcpvs0ftbue1o7cb5ma44iqhjl632@4ax.com... >> > What I >> >need to do is come up with a formula or function that I can put in the >> >spreadsheet so it will do an NSLOOKUP on each IP in colum 1 and put the >> >results in colum 2, >> >> You can do this with VBScript and Windows Script Host.
