I found an editor in Excel, click Tools->Macro->Visual Basic Editor. I don't 
know if it can be used to create scripts outside of Excel, but these this are 
generally small enough that Notepad works fine.  WSH is built into W2K, I think 
it's an add-on for NT4.

Here's a script that creates and writes to an Excel spreadsheet:
