I've tried to use DOS batch files under Win2000, and it seems to
skip some lines in the .BAT files.  That causes all sorts of
problems.  This is on a Pentium III 500.  Oddly, the same batch files
work fine on a Pentium 166.  I finally had to revert to Win98.  If
your problem is similar, you aren't alone in this.

Wish I had a cure, but all I can do is pass along what I've seen.
