Subj : Re: Help please for delay login win w2k with Novell client 4.8 To : Geo. From : Douglas Smith Date : Tue Feb 13 2001 12:05 pm From: Douglas Smith We use the Novell Client 4.8 with W2K and NT SP6a using both DHCP and fixed. There is no perceptible difference in the two. After login, the client is slow the first time it accesses the network, but after that it is okay. See http://www.ithowto.com/Novell/ClientSpeed.htm for information on tuning. If you get file permission errors and are running NW 5.0 SP6A or NW 5.1 SP2A, you might want to enter the following at the server: set client file caching enabled=off You might also want to vist the Novell support forums (support- forums.novell.com) and ask the question in the Windows 2000/NT client section. They are usually quite helpful there. In article <3a891938$1@w3.nls.net>, georger@nls.net says... > Sounds like a DNS issue of some sort.
