Subj : Win2k doesn't see workgroup.. To : All From : Jeff Shultz - Shultz Infosystems Date : Tue Feb 13 2001 08:29 am From: Jeff Shultz - Shultz Infosystems My Windows2k laptop floats between three different networks, one at home (OS/2, Linux, NT 4 SP6 (encrypted passwords disabled)), one at school (Novell), and one at work (Win98/Me, different workgroup). Laptop is running DHCP. On the work network I can see all of the other systems, even though they are on a different workgroup. I also see my own laptop show up under it's workgroup as well. At school I don't care. At home is where the problem pops up... Although I can access other machines on the network by setting up Network Places, if I try and browse to them it tells me that the workgroup is empty... this is the same workgroup that it is in, and in which he shows up at work. It's getting really annoying - because this and getting Win2k to work with Samba are (and printing from Linux, another issue) are the only issues I really have to work out with this network. -- Jeff Shultz "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers..."
