Subj : Where is the setting for drive names written To : All From : Andrew Minter Date : Tue Feb 13 2001 07:32 am From: Andrew Minter I have a problem... and this is the situation: We have made a template drive setup, where we have partitioned the HDD into the partitions we want, and then setup our different operating systems and everything is perfect... except, when we copy this hdd to another hdd, everything copies fine, everything is correct, except that NT doesn't assign the drive letters correctly. Do you know where this setting is written or how to stop this from happening ?? I will give an example: We have a couple of partitions. C:, D:, E:, F:, G:. When we copy the drive the new drive swaps D: and E: with F: and G:, so each time we have to swap it using Disk Administrator. We only have to do this once, but I would like to know where the setting is written or how to prevent this from happening.
