I didn't want to use an external program, but it would be good to have in an

Thanks.  That's the one I couldn't remember.

Yes, but did you ever try to get rid of those programs that claim (they all do) 
they have completely uninstalled themselves?  They're like warts.  (-:

Using the same version I have (2.6.362) with Win 98, I didn't have this 
problem.

Of course!  They want you to upgrade your hardware.  It makes sense, if you 
think about it, what with the technical advances coming as fast as they are.
