I got a chance to poke around an XP machine today, and I think I found it. Try running "COMPMGMT". That should give you the XP Computer Management Console. Under that, there should be a "Disk Management" key. I opened that, and it's quite similar to the NT Windisk app. There's a listing of drives on the top half of the box, and a graphical representation of partitions on the bottom. Just as I described with Windisk.exe, if you right-click on the partition you want to change and then click on properties, that will give you a box with several tabs at the top. I can't recall if there was a "Security" tab, but there was a "Sharing" tab, and you might be able to change your permissions from in there. It seems to work pretty much the same as Windisk.exe, except that XP gives you a bunch of "friendly" warnings about the "risks" of sharing your disks. --- GoldED/386 3.0.1-dam3 * Origin: MikE'S MaDHousE: WelComE To ThE AsYluM!
