You might take a look at Open Office, it's free, I've not found any MS Office file it's not compatible with and it IS updated to stay current. It's at http://www.openoffice.org/ What it really is, is Star Office 6.0 with the data base program removed (Star Office bought the data base and can't give it away for free). If you've used Star Office 5.x and hated it as much as I do, you'll be delighted to know that the new version version is changed completely and is many times better IMHO! David R.
