Subj : Registry Question To : All From : Jay Fuller Date : Tue Dec 03 2002 03:18 pm I can see I'm in the correct group of people for this question. I was recently assisting a local school which just had a new computer network installed. They had a game (educational software) which they were trying to use on every computer and it could not find database files. In further investigation, there was a registry key each USER needed to access the database files from the cd-rom. It was a key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. I had no idea how to add this registry key to each users file automatically , so I rigged up something on each computer's startup and I'm going to go remove it on Friday, after every student (over 400) log in throughout the week. For now, they're required to answer "yes , I'd like to enter this information into the registry" every time they logon. I cheap solution, but hey, it got the job done. How can I take several (over 300) user files and have a registry entry entered into all of them? I know there are other keys that require this type of interface as well, so I'm sure this is not a new problem? Thanks!
