Subj : Win2k/NetModem To : BENNIE HUTTO From : CHRIS CRANFORD Date : Fri Aug 23 2002 10:44 am -> Yep, I want inbound telnet to the BBS. I have an ADSL connection. -> I have a domain name with darktech, my address is: -> thewallbbs.darktech.org -> FTP is the same and I use WARFtp v 1.67 for that. I would really suggest upgrading because it's all integrated within one system instead of multiple systems for files and messages. -> Well, in the next couple of weeks I'll be working with the State of -> Georgia doing surveys of mental haelth centers, 50 bucks a day, so -> that'll bring in a little extra cash and I might be able to get with -> Andrea and get upgraded (fingers crossed). And converting my current -> WC4 system to WINS wouldn't be that hard EXCEPT for the mail tosser, -> I don't know if ViaMail will still work with WINS so I'd also have to -> get PX, and that's a pretty big switch... hmmmm... I know that they're running a special combo with PX and WINS together. I am currently working to develop a Windows 9x/NT/2000 compatible mail tosser for WINS. It's a very close product to PX but cheaper. The ETA of public release is late 2000. I don't know if that will be helpful to you or not. Do you just pull mail and toss it into your BBS or do you have downlinks? There is a mail tosser called BIGTED which I believe is freeware or shareware that works with WINS. It tosses mail in without problems and the transfer of mail can be done using BinkD which is also freeware.
