I'm thinking about JScript/COM -> KK> but this is not good. -> My copy of Win2000 (Professional) includes a Scheduled Tasks accessory -> (Start/Accessories/System Tools) that should be usable to set a weekly defrag -> using the Win2000 Defrag accessory. Alan, I don't believe you can do that because the defrager for Windows 2000 is a MMC Console application which isn't like a standard .EXE file. Plus, the defrager does not accept command line arguements nor does it allow you to setup a configuration on how you want to defrag and what to defrag. I believe this feature was in WinNT but not in Windows 2000, at least not to my knowledge at this point. I have searched Microsoft's site with no luck in obtaining and reference material or any documentation that proves/disproves either side of this issue.
