I would upgrade to WINS but -> finances are very short. :( Bennie, I certainly understand regarding finances. I don't know if you're aware, but Santronics is running a special of 20% all of their Wildcat and PX line products through the end of the month of August. Now I don't know if that's for WINS existing customers or for all customers so you can always contact asantos@santronics.com and verify that; however I am not quite sure if you're going to be able to using a Virtual Port app with Windows 2000 either and WINS. I can tell you however that WINS v5.4.449 runs perfect on Windows 2000. You may want to, as suggested in the previous message by another party consider going back to WinNT4 which did support Virtual Ports. You may want to also do a search on the Internet and look at the virtual port software company's websites and see if they say that their products are Windows 2000 compatible. That will also answer your question, but I have a feeling it's up the the manufacturer of the software. Windows 2000 is merely an extension of WinNT v4/Sp6A which you are probably aware of. I have be running both Win2kPro/WinNT4SP6A concurrently here in the office and see no differences except for the placement of certain buttons and textboxes on the dialog boxes in the control panel, etc... I tried to look in the help for virtual ports and found nil. I can also suggest you go to http://search.microsoft.com and see if you can find any leads there as well. Let me know your finds!!!
