If The *.CHK files found in the \found.xxx directory aren't temporary files. They are files created bt CHECKDSK or SCANDISK from lost clusters. These can occur when the system is abnormally powered off without an orderly shutdown and there were files open at the time. In 20 years I have never found any useful data in them and usually just delete them. The exception would be if you lost a word processing or text file and was able to recognize some of it in a .CHK file. Mostly they are ASCII files and you have no idea where they came from.
