Subj : CRASH ON UPGRADE TO WIN2000 To : All From : Jay Fuller Date : Fri Dec 21 2001 03:31 am Howdy folks: I've been attempting to update a windows 98 machine to windows 2000 professional. As the setup procress continues through it's thing - it builds a programs list (and wants to check it twice, I'm sure). It scans the entire hard drive.....makes a note of a few important programs in C:\Program Files, than says....."processing system files". At that point....it crashes.....saying "ntkern" or something has an invalid page fault in module "kernal32.dll" (nice how that is, eh?). I've reloaded 98 on top of itself, i've disabled all running programs, i've changed the memory stick, I've done everything I can *think* to do to solve this problem and I **really** don't want to have to reload from scratch. Anyone got suggestions on this? Thanks in advance, Jay Fuller --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: Deep Space Nine BBS - dsnbbs.dyndns.org - 256.734.0818 (1:3613/22) .
