Are you using FAT CC> or are you giving users too high of a priveledge? THE WIN me! partition in fact is FAT32, but well i'll have to set my server to use NTFS, read a book about W2k and it said that it was advisable to partition the HDD in three 1. OS, 2. Network programs, 3. Users, is that good?. CC> Can you afford to upgrade to Windows 2000? Win95/98 aren't very good CC> operating systems .... at least in our opinion it isn't. Uffff.... there's the problem, machines are 486 66Mhz and 586 100Mhz with a GB of HDD and 16 and 32 Mb RAM the best. i DO have Win 2000 Pro, Server and Addvanced Server and you're rite that w95/98 are crap. slow and unsecure. and Linux wuacala, i hate that. it would never be as useful, compatible and frendly as Windows. CC> To get rid of the error, we suggest you remove the machines from the CC> network if his is something you can do. You may want to search the CC> Network properties configuration in our Win9x setup. Make sure you're CC> connecting as a WORKGROUP instead of as a domain and that may also CC> help you out too... I've already done so... CC> Unfortunately, we do not use Win9x machines here and neither does my CC> friend. We don't use that OS very much so things are very vague ... you're rite, bt well i'd like to know if there's some other way other than Terminal Server to be on a w2k like enviroment. some more questions are: 1. How can i set up Terminal Server to start on a especific program for SOME not all users, it's one the server or on the client?. 2. I'd like to know how do i set up profiles, directories for may users other than c:\documents and settings\All Users\Administrator?. i'd like them to be: Eg D:\users\Sysop. 3. i'd like to learn to set up a DHCP service, though people has told me that it's not a good idea to set this if i'm on the internet, your opinion and please help me to set it up anyway....
