If you're running your NETGEAR router and CC>protecting all your machines behind the router using private IP CC>addresses, there are only 2 ways to get what works on the out- CC>side to work on the inside. Again those are: CC> 1) Edit HOST files CC> 2) Internal DNS server Ok, Chris, this hasn't really become a new problem (I made up a HOSTS file - although I didn't want to) , but about once every other day....and sometimes more often.....the DNS service goes out. I can lookup OLD hosts (which are cached, perhaps) , but I can not look up any new hosts until I turn my modem off and back on again. Is this a modem issue or a router issue? Any suggestions? The modem, btw, is one of bellsouth's infamous "Speed Touch Home" modems, made by Alcatel :) Thanks in advance. :) --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: Deep Space Nine BBS - dsnbbs.dyndns.org - 256.734.0818 (1:3613/22) .
